Beer Terms from High Octane Growler
As we carry forward with our weekly slate of beer terms, we start with the letter A because we’re obsessive. So please make sure the light switch is in the down position on your way out the door.
Amber: An amber is any top or bottom fermented beer having an amber color, that is, between pale and dark. I used to make jokes about the song “Amber” by 311, and often referred to it as the color of beer, or motor oil.
Enjoy and value amber beer for the color, taste and drinkability, but please, don’t drink motor oil, despite what you might have seen Joaquin Phoenix do in The Master. Back next Friday with another A-choice beer vocabulary selection.
