Beer Terms: Bitterness

Beer Terms from High Octane Growler

Bitter_FaceBitterness: Well shucks, bitterness is what we live for! The perception of bitterness in beer comes from iso-alpha acids in the solution, which are derived from hops.

Bitterness is measured in IBUs, or International Bitterness Units. That, or how much your average cocktail-with-an-umbrella fan hates it. We love it. Bring on the bitterness, and bring on the craft beer.

Have a zany but safe weekend, and listen up for our next posting of content on Tuesday as Tommy and the gang (“The Others”) talk blue book exams, English comprehension (as opposed to English composition), and tales from the rough-and-tumble world of the community college blackboard jungle on High Octane Growler.
