Beer Terms from High Octane Growler

Barrel: Your first reaction to the word barrel probably has something to do with monkeys or Niagara Falls, and at High Octane Growler, both have their uses. But for our purposes a barrel is a unit of beer measurement.

In Great Britain, a barrel holds 36 imperial gallons (one imperial gallon equals 4.5 liters), while in the U.S. a barrel holds 31.5 gallons (one US gallon equals 3.8 liters). We’ll quiz you on the math and formulas after you’ve had a few.

And by the way, Happy Earth Day Weekend!
